Halloween....
It is almost Halloween. I used to love Halloween. I guess I still do in a way. I always watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" every year since I have been old enough to watch it. I have watched it with my son for years. But, this year he finally out grew it I guess because he had no interest in watching it with me. His goal was to go online and play Minecraft with his friends before it got too late. So, I sat in front of the TV and watched and felt sorry for Charlie Brown when all he got was rocks in his bag.
This is the first year in a long time that I won't be taking anyone trick or treating. After my sister and I were too old to go anymore we took my brother for a couple of years but he was not really into it so we stopped and then her kids came along and we took them until they got too old to go with us and wanted to go on their own with their friends and eventually they outgrew it too. Well, fast forward to when my son was born and for the past 10 years I have been taking him out and my sister has tagged along most of those years for the free candy. Now, tricking or treating is quickly becoming a memory. This year my kid will go with his friends around the neighborhood. I don't expect him to get much in the way of candy because things have changed and not a lot of people are giving anything out. But, nonetheless, I won't be going. I will be home for the first time in years giving out candy. And tracking his every move. lol Like I said times have changed and not for the better in a lot of areas Halloween being one of them.
Our pumpkins are not decorated with the exception of one that I painted about 2 weeks ago. I have been trying to get my son to do whatever he is going to do with them today but it didn't happen. Since Halloween is in two days he better hurry up or they will sit on the porch undecorated. Except mine.
So, all I can say is that I hope he gets good candy that I can "steal"
