March Showers Bring April Flowers
I like the rain. I like walking in the rain. I like walking in a light shower not a hail storm or heavy rain. It was raining today and it was a light rain when I left the house to go to the corner store. So, when I left I was thinking that it probably would not be pouring by the time I get there and return home. Usually at this store there is not a huge crowd especially at 10ish in the morning. I needed eggs for breakfast.
I get there and walk in with another woman whom I had seen around before. She probably lived two streets over or so. So, she finishes her list before me. I was only getting eggs until I saw the water my son likes so I said to myself might as well grab a couple for him and then the poptarts got me too so I grabbed two of those and of course the eggs and the half and half for the French toast I had planned on making for breakfast. The woman beats me to the counter. She had more stuff then I had including a bottle of beer and red wine. So, the girl who is one of the cashiers and who is the slowest one they have out of the 4 or 5 that work there, she is nice but slow. And so of course the scanner was not working properly so that made the process even slower. When it rains nothing works right.
Then it happened. What I thought was going to happen but prayed wouldn't. It started pouring and all I could think about was it is was pouring rain and I had a hood, a coat and a kid size umbrella. So, finally the woman was done but her card was not done. Neither was the rain. By the time she got it all worked out it was pouring and I was hoping it would not freakishly start hailing or something which would just be my luck. I paid for my things and walked the few blocks home hoping that I would not have to wring out my jacket by the time I got back.
Of course it stopped almost right after I got inside and closed the door. I just laughed. But, what I love about the rain that it makes all thing green and growing and right after a good rain the weeds and the grass in the back looks cool.
