Early in the Summer of the Day

Today was one of those warm summer days. I took my usual walk and I took longer then normal. I only really get to walk one time per day. That small fraction of time before my nephew goes to work and it is a very small window of time but I take it because I know that I will be  basically at the house for the rest of the day with my mom. I joked with my friend that my next husband will have to be found on one of my super short walks cause my life has been just that lately a few short walks and back home. I would get out more but my mom she hates steps and we have steps. I don't mind the steps so much anymore. Going up and down is no big deal to me anymore. I am going up and down more now since my brother is not here anymore and I have picked up doing his chores which included taking out the trash and the recycle.  So, I get to meet and greet all the morning people doing the same thing I am doing and most of them have dogs walking them. Today I got to hear some of the history of three cities kind of. I was passing by the guy on a corner who was giving these history lessons to one woman who seemed interested while walking her small dog. The dog looked uninterested and was just standing there looking up at the woman probably thinking something like can we go now?

So, today when I went out it wasn't too hot yet. The sun was just starting to heat up the neighborhood and I had on a light jacket and my new jeans that surprisingly fit better then I expected. It is hard to find a good pair of jeans these days. Anyway, I walked a little slower and smelled the roses on this fence and was glad nobody saw me do it. I looked around at the crows crowing on the telephone wires and even noticed a spill on the sidewalk shaped like a cloud. When I got to the store which became one of my destinations, I saw a woman eating a bowl of soup sitting outside at one of the two tables and at the other table was another woman just sitting listening to her phone. I assume it was music since she was rocking back and forth on the chair. I call it chair dancing. Inside the store were two people getting coffee, a couple. They seemed in a hurry since they practically ran to the counter after they poured their coffee in the paper cups and then sprinted almost to their car parked outside. They reminded me of the saying that someone used to tell me, "In a hurry to do nothing." I don't know what they had to do but whatever it was looked like they were late in doing it. I paid for my stuff and grabbed my son some orange juice and me some caffeine. I told my nephew I need some of that to get me through the day. He laughs because he doesn't know how serious I am. I always have one can of coke per day. On a bad day two cans.

I was in no hurry and even stopped and looked around at all the sights of the morning including the garbage man who was collecting trash and recycling and listening to the sounds of the truck like I used to do when I was little. I just wanted to enjoy a little bit part of a warm summers day before my day turned into the same old same old. I think I will make this a habit just enjoying the beginning of each and every day before the "real" day starts.  Stopping to take pictures of whatever I see.
