Go Ahead And Laugh!
When I was little, a young child, I don't remember laughing as much as my son. I laughed with my sister and cousins over silly kid stuff that we did. It didn't take much to fill the quiet air around us with loud laughter when we were all together. One of us would tell a corney joke or someone would do something like make fake farting sounds and we would all burst out laughing to the top of our lungs until we cried tears sometimes. By the end of most days we had laughed so hard our collective tummies hurt.
We mostly did all our laughing outside because during those days we spent more time outside then inside. So, rarely did the adults or the "boring old folks" as we sometimes called our parents rarely heard us. By the time we came inside for the day we were all laughed out and ready for dinner, baths and bed.
So, it didn't surprise me when my mom made the comment that my son was laughing too much. She didn't think it was normal to laugh a lot. Now, mind you my son was watching a cartoon an old school bugs bunny cartoon online wearing headphones so she couldn't hear what he was laughing at. She only saw an occasional view of a bunny on the screen. I told her that laughing is normal and when you are a carefree kid you laugh and laugh sometimes until you cry and your tummy hurts. I reminded her that sometimes laughter is the best medicine. So, I say keep laughing and laughing so hard until you cry. Laugh often and laugh hard!
