Quiet Please!

Everyone who visits me at my house always comment that it is a quiet neighborhood. I just nod in agreement because little do they know this neighborhood can be far from quiet. I do agree that about 80% of the time it is quiet for the most part aside from the usual noise of kids playing outside when the weather is nice, and people walking back and forth to their cars and the usual array of car alarms going off sometimes in the middle of the day and sometimes at night. But, on some rare occasions  you might find the street littered with about 5 or so police cars and cops all focusing on usually one house across the street.  A couple of years ago that house was raided and the cops were in the neighborhood for hours. A few months ago they were called because someone across the street was fighting with someone else. A while back they were running through the parking lot looking for someone who had shot at them right around the corner. So, quiet yes, most of the time.

Today quiet was not the word for this neighborhood. A neighbor was outside talking loudly on the cell phone which is pretty much normal for her and the I heard some crying which is not normal for her. I tried to peak out the window just to check to see if anything was going on that needed legal attention and all I saw was her on the phone crying and crying and talking to someone on the other end. At first I thought that she had some very bad news as in someone she loved passed away. After a few more sentences I heard that the crying was about hurt feelings. She is usually the one hurting the feelings, I know this because I have seen her in action more then a few times hurting the feelings of most of her friends. I know this because they are argue and talk loudly outside of the house instead of inside so well, me and the rest of the neighborhood practically know most of that history.  So, she was screaming by now that she was hurt and mad and wont trust the person ever again in life. I felt for her. I know how it is to trust someone and then have that person do something horrible and break your trust. Usually when that happens with me I don't trust that person again. So, after her crying died down to sobbing she went inside the house for a while. Later someone tooted the horn and she came out still wiping her eyes as she drove off in the car with the person who picked her up.

I thought that was that. She just needed time to vent probably and clear her mind. But, I was wrong. After she left and returned she then stood on her porch and broke a window to her house. All I heard was glass shattering. I am unsure if she got locked out or if she was really angry. But nonetheless, I do hope and pray that she feels better soon and tomorrow the neighborhood can go back to the 80%.
