Parking it at the Park!

Today was a beautiful Spring day and today my nephew was here and today I got a chance to go outside and enjoy some of the day. Usually, I don't get to go out much because I have to take care of my mom during the days and nights and she usually refuses to go down the steps because she says it is too many steps and she will go if she HAS to but not if she doesn't which doesn't surprise me at all. She has always been stubborn like that. I get that from her, my stubborn streak. So, the furthest we get most of the time is to the steps. But, today my son wanted to go to the park. And we had the time and the means and so off to the park we went while my nephew stayed with my mom.

It had been so long since I walked to the park I almost forgot were it was. My back got a little stiff but I ignored it and went on the 6-7 blocks that we walked. When we got there there were people in the picnic area and some toddlers on the baby side of the park and that was it. I immediately sat on the cement slab that near the swings. They need to put a park bench on that side. If I had money I would donate to put one there. It would be more convenient since the only place to sit is way across the park in the picnic area. But, nonetheless, I parked myself there and rested by back the best that I could while my son swung on the swings. I noticed some new graffiti that wasn't there the last time I went and part of the wire fence was cut open or broken. I watched my son swing, slide, monkey bars and then repeat. He finally settled on the swings for a while and swung while playing a song on his phone which was in his pocket.

A few more people arrived to the park for an apparent picnic/ Easter egg hunt. I was wondering why the kids had Easter baskets when they arrived to the park. Then when some of the adults started "hiding" plastic Easter eggs and then someone whipped out an I PHONE to record the kids, all four of them finding the eggs. One was a toddler who kept throwing them out of his basket faster then his mom could put them inside almost. It was funny and I totally remember those days with my own son.

After more then an hour and a half of swinging and sliding and repeat and me sitting in the shade on a cement block and getting hungry for lunch it was time to make the walk back to the house. We stopped at the store along the way got some snacks and proceeded to home.

We had a nice time and maybe we can do it again soon!
