Back Down Memory Math Lane

I was talking to my friend today about my son's school work. I have decided that I now hate algebra again for the second time. I took it in the 9th grade and my son has it in the 7th. It's been a long time since I have seen anything with x-y-5+78 to the tenth power or whatever. I never wanted to see another numbers and letter problem again or see the order of operations again in my life but I am seeing them again. And again they are giving me a headache and wanting to throw the math book out of the window. But, then again that would be wrong to throw a math book out of the window in front of my son. So, I sucked it up and tried to help him.

My friend took me back down memory lane and reminded me the fun we had in math class in the 9th grade. I sat behind her and behind me was another girl who loved to eat. Eat other people's food. So, one day we were all in class and the girl behind me brought a big sub sandwich. It probably was from subway which was kind of near by. Now, somehow in that class without the teacher seeing us we managed to cut parts off the sandwich off, small bits of it, and pass the small bites to each of us. I think that a couple of the members of the class saw us but the teacher, as far as we know never did.  We all couldn't stand math or anything that was boring which was all of the courses we had. We complained and moaned about them, sort of like my son does now. That takes me back to grade school and middle school.

It was fun going down memory lane with her today until I had to come back to reality and try to  check my son's math. Thank goodness half the answers were in the back of the book just like the old days.
