Sidewalk Art
Last Thursday we went on a little park adventure. I call it an adventure because its always something different each time we go. Different kids running around playing, different parents watching, different dog walkers, and different weather. You never know what you will do or find there.
My son rushed for the swings. He dashed over to the four empty swings and chose the one one the left end. The park was not crowded. Only a few kids playing tag on the structures and a couple more toddlers on the baby side of the park happily swinging also.
So, no waiting for swings or slides or anything. A few people passed by walking small dogs with sweaters on with owners carrying little poop bags, empty bags. The weather was spring like. It as nice.
My sister and I, she came with us, sometimes you need Four eyes on one child, and we sat by the swings on the stone wall. Then we noticed at our feet was sidewalk art. Some artistic little one had taken the time to make the sidewalk in front of wall. It was nice and different.
After my son jumped off the swings a few times and played a couple rounds of tagged with the kids on the structure he noticed the sidewalk art too. We all were just looking down at the flower and faded hand prints near it. My son said it was nice and then asked if he could get sidewalk chalk the next time we went to the dollar tree. I said maybe. I could just imagine what he would draw. Probably a plane or a boat. Maybe a robot monster wearing a wig.
A little while later after the weather got cooler and dinner needed to be cooked at home we left. We will be back. Maybe with our own sidewalk chalk in hand to perhaps create some art for someone else to enjoy.
