The Art of Math

Two math tests today was more then enough to give me a
grown woman a headache so when my 9 year old said he was tired of math today I could do nothing but agree. Math was never a favorite subject for me in school. When I was in school I would rather walk on warm coals, not hot, I am not that crazy, so to say, not that people who do it are crazy, just for me and only me it would be crazy. But, you get my point math wasn't my best or favorite subject. I was always in what they called back then the slower math class. When I was in 4 th  grade we had two math groups. One group who caught on fast went upstairs to another classroom and the rest of us stayed in the classroom and so a different teacher would teach us.  So, I would with there for 45 min and stare at the board and do simple math problems every day for that school year.

I always manage to get either a b or c in math until I went to college and ironically I got all A's. Maybe I just liked it more by then. I even got an A in chemistry which I never took in high school cause I thought it was too hard.  But, it wasn't as hard as I thought. I was proud of myself.

So, today, my son did his math under protest for about 15 minutes then after another 20 minutes and 3 short breaks math was over and he said that wasn't as bad as he thought. And we moved on to one subject that we both like, art.
