Open The House
When the landlord put the for sale outside I was not really expecting anything to happen. I have lived here too long, longer then I had dreamed of, and every year he's put up this same sign, I believe he just keeps the sign in his garage and pops it out when needed. He puts it up every year and it sits there swinging in the summer or fall breezes for a few weeks and the sign disappeared as fast as it appeared.
This time I thought it would be the same. But, I was wrong . Yesterday a barrage of people descended upon this small building and smaller apartment and came in and looked in the kitchen and bathroom. Of course the bathroom door hits the toilet when you open it and that can be a problem on so many levels. And people seemed to notice and a couple folks smirked and one shook his head. I tried not to laugh.
All of them were friendly and all thanked us for allowing them to look around. Almost like we had a choice about it. But I appreciated the sentiment. The landlords wife was the Realtor. I sort of remember him saying something in passing a couple years ago about her studying for the test. So, apparently she passed and now is showing this building. She was very nice and had a bright white smile and long dark hair curled a bit at the ends. I was thinking if she wasn't an agent she could be a model if she were a little taller. She explained she would only intrude on our Saturday afternoon.
She was right for the most part. The first 30 minutes generated the most people after that a couple people ran in and out almost literally.
Exactly at 4 pm it was over as promised. Next comes Tuesday. I don't know all that day will be about except for a termite inspection from 2-3pm so he said. So, it seems like maybe, just maybe he's seriously trying to sell this "cash cow" as he calls it on the flyer.
