Will You Be My Neighbor?

I must admit I live in a colorful neighborhood. Not that I sm going to miss it much when we move. This morning the crows woke me up with their chatting, crowing and flirtatious with each other and humans. I don't mind them so much. They hang around until around noon and make a return visit around two before they depart until the next day.
Then their are my colorful neighbors. The older man next door has written a few books about diversity. I know this because a couple years back he papered the neighborhood with flyers asking everyone to be extra quiet because he was shooting a training video. Shooting from his back yard. He had all his books and website listed. I looked him up and he was even on Oprah in 1990 something. So, about three or four times per year he has seminars at his house. From what I gather fro m reading the website and flyers companies pay him good money to train their employees in diversity. Apparently, this is one of his seminar weekends.

Clapping and laughter started early in the morning too. And of course we have the always loud neighbor across the street. Maybe on a good week you won't hear any music, loud talking outside coming from a bunch of 20 year olds who have an array of cars. From these cars are music mostly rap and more youngsters.

I have pretty much gotten used to them too. Even used to them migrating to this side of the street and plopping down on my steps to talk on cell phones loudly. But, they are very polite and call me miss or ma'am if I have to go down the stairs and they move and then ask for permission to plop back down promising they will be quiet. Which they try to be, at least their version of quiet.

There are a few barking dogs and owners barking at the dogs to be quiet. And today an added surprise of a singing man. I don't know where he came from but there he was outside my window singing a song and playing the harmonica.

Yes, this neighborhood is never boring but I am looking forward to a less colorful one in the near future.
