Pizza, Pizza
In between being sick people had to eat. So, once my nephew went back to work I was not in the mood to cook dinner and so my son said he thinks that him and grandma wanted pizza. So, on Papa Johns, our go to pizza place, I had accumulated enough points for a free pizza so we got one free one and I saw a deal for a couple more for $8 so I ordered them thinking that in this house pizza doesn't last too long so it wouldn't be a problem with 3 pizzas getting eaten.
The next day came and there was more pizza in the fridge that had been eaten. I started to think I was in the wrong house for a minute. What happened to all my pizza gremlins? Usually, I wake up in the morning and I am lucky to see two slices left in the fridge. But, I guess even the pizza gremlins got tired of eating that much pizza so when my son's friend came over in the rain I had an idea. Instant Pizza party! Or sort of with one person that he was hanging out with that rainy day. Seems that rain doesn't keep most of these kids inside. I guess they think what's a little water falling from the sky? Like my mom always told me you won't melt in the rain so I guess they heard the same thing. Well, I gave this kid 3 slices of pizza which he was so happy to have I thought he was going to break out with a happy dance. He gobbled them down and I had forgotten how much boys can gobble down when they are hungry especially the teen and pre teen ones. So, he ate and played and left happy.
Fast forward to the next day. Guess the word got out we had left over pizza, via my son and the kid who was over the day before. Like my exes mom used to say, neither one of their mouths can hold water. So, I was not surprised when the half of the neighborhood came out to play because they saw a glimmer of sun in between rain showers showed up one at a time at the door asking for pizza. I gave the first kid 2 slices and the second kid the last slice I had. I had to tell the rest sorry no more pizza but next time I foolishly order more pizza then the my pizza gremlins can eat I will share again.
My son and his friends suggested that we have a pizza party soon. Well, I don't know about soon. It was sort of a fluke that we had a lot of pizza this time. I don't know when that is going to happen again but I am pretty sure it won't be "soon". Maybe next month we can do something to give him a belated, very belated birthday celebration. I am sure the whole neighborhood kids will like that. For them the more pizza the better.
