Mr. Motor Mouth

Have you ever met a person that talks and talks and talks so much and so fast that you can't get in a word edgewise? I have met that person too. A few years ago I was on a social networking site. I was on there because my friend told me he was on there and wanted to friend me but I had to join so he could. OK, yep, some of my friends are a little "crazy" sometimes. But, he also said that it was a pretty fun site and so I joined and he friend ed me. I got a message from this man who didn't live too far just a bridge away and he wanted to be friends too. So, being the friendly person that I can be sometimes, I let him be my friend. Well, he was a couple of years younger then me and I thought good at least we are from the same generation. That was a plus that I didn't have to explain the 80's to him cause he was around in the 80's like me. So, after a few messages over a couple of months he said that he wanted me to call him or text him and so I felt OK about him and about calling him. Well, the minute he said hello and I said hello that was the last word I got to say except um and okay. This man talked a mile a minute about everything that popped into his brain. If he could type a mile a minute I probably would have gotten 10 messages per hour. But, he sure couldn't type as fast as he could talk, not even close. So, he is talking and talking and talking about his life, his kid, his family, his hobbies, his job, his apartment, his city, food, who cooks the best in his family, his previous dates, his past relationships, you name it he probably talked about it. I even put the phone down to tell my son something and he was still happily talking without even noticing that I was not on the phone. Of course I would have told him to hang on if I could have gotten a word in. But, his mouth was on fire. He couldn't stop if you paid him.
He said that he liked to tell jokes and was a comedian part time and worked at the docks full time. So, he told me a few jokes over the phone and before I could even laugh he would go right into another one and and another. So, after maybe an hour or so of him talking about himself and telling me a few jokes he had used at one of the shows he did I did manage to get a word in to tell him that I had to get off the phone. I made up an excuse. By that time my ears couldn't take any more. He was very nice though and obviously loved to talk.

I guess by the time we talked for the 5th time or so he was all talked out and I  didn't hear from him for 6 months. I talked, or he talked for about an hour catching me on what he had going on for the past few months and then that was that. I have yet to hear from him again which I now affectionately call "motor mouth" But, I am sure that this is not the last I have heard from him. I am just waiting for another 6 months or so.
