Seed Planting Mama

I hadn't had a pen pal in over 30 years and I found a group on Facebook and found a few pen pals. One of them likes to grow all kinds of things and she told me that you don't have to have a lot of space to grow stuff. In response to me telling her that I didn't have a lot of space and my thumb is not so green sometimes. Well, I got a free packet of flowers from Honey Nut Cheerios of some flowers. They had some promotion to plant flowers for the bees. So, I said what the heck I will try. I went to the dollar store and got some pots and soil. I didn't even know the dollar store had soil until my sister told me that they did but she said hurry cause they sell out quickly. So, while I was there to do my Easter shopping I got a bag of soil and three small flower pots. I figured that I would start off small and see what happened. So, my son and I planted the seeds in the flower pots that we got from the dollar store and put them on in the kitchen window where the sun is the brightest. They said on the package that in a few days about 3 the flowers should sprout or in my mind you can see something growing. So, I waited and watered. And low and behold in 4 days I saw something in one of the pots and on the 6th day I saw a little something in the other pot.

I was overjoyed. I almost did the happy dance in the kitchen. I also planted a bean, my son's idea, but that hasn't had anything happen in that cup yet. I don't know how long that is supposed to take. But, I am ready to see some spring flowers in a few weeks and hoping that they grow enough to be moved to a bigger pot. I almost feel like a gardener, well kind of sorta.

I think that I will try something else soon. What I don't know but I saw a variety of seeds at the dollar store. I will be a seed planting mama pretty soon.
