Priceless
I have had a couple of weeks where Murphy's Law was in full effect. Whatever could possibly go wrong has. So, it didn't surprise me when we went to go look at an apartment or I guess something similar to an apartment since it was in a basement. A dark gloomy basement. We got there about ten minutes early. So we sat parked in front until we saw another car pull up in the spot in front of our car. My mom looked at me like is that the owner. I shrugged my shoulders and we both watched as the woman who was driving got out of her car which was similar to ours, and walked to the place we were going to look at.
She had a key ring in her hand full of keys as she unlocked a gate in the front of the house. We got out of our car and walked to the gate. She was very tall and turned around quickly. I introduced myself and asked if she was the person I had talked to over the phone. She shook my hand then said no the person I talked to was not able to make it so she's showing the place.
As soon as we walked into the living area another couple walked in and they were there to check out the place too. Both groups got a hurried tour. Although, there wasn't much to look at. It was small , very small and dark. The lady told us she had one more person to show it too that day and handed out applications. She explained that if we were interested there was a $35 credit check fee and we could leave that and the applications with her.
Neither us or the couple were interested since we all left without giving her anything. On the way out we passed a woman walking up with a large older German Shepard dog. I was thinking that may have been her next appointment.
When I returned home I checked the tracking on a package I was expecting. It said it was delivered to the front door. Needless to say nothing was there. I looked in all the hiding spots that are used when nobody opens the door. Nothing. I checked with the building manager. Nothing there either.
After 10 minutes on hold and 2 e-mails the sender agreed to send a replacement out. I made sure someone was here for that delivery.
I guess Josh, my son, noticed I was not too happy about the way my week had been going so he decided to make me something to help me feel better. After a few minutes in his room he emerged with a belt he made. Not just any belt. This was his version of the million dollar mans belt in wrestling. He said it would make me feel like a million bucks.
He was wrong. It made me feel like a whole lot more. It is priceless.
