Spider Visit
Spiders always invade our porch. They love hanging out spinning webs right over our heads. It's always a spiderweb surprise each time we open the door. You never know if you will you will walk into a web with or without a spider laying in wait for an in suspecting fly or any other insect which might get trapped in the web of the spider.
But as fate would have it, my son, Josh, loves spiders. As a matter of fact I have yet to find a insect or bug he doesn't like. We have one small spider who has been hanging on the porch for a while. According to Josh, way past his spider visit. So he decided to name this spider Harry. I asked why he choose the name Harry. He just said he looked like his name should be Harry. That was enough of an explanation for me. Then a few days after Harry the spider was named another spider came along and spun a web near the rail on the porch. She was named Katie. I don't know if it was a girl or boy spider. I must admit my spider knowledge is very limited. But, in either case male or female Katie was the name.
We watched Harry and Katie everyday. They did very little moving much to the disappointment of Josh, but he still liked looking and giving me and his grandma a daily narration of what he thought they might have done while he was asleep. So for the about a week we heard nothing but talk about Harry and Katie until one morning when Josh went to check on them both were gone. All that was left behind were empty webs. Josh figured there visit was over and they moved on. I like to think that too.
Although Harry and Katie are long gone we know in a few days there will be one or two more to take their places and come for a visit.
