Case of the Missing Shoes Solved
Every morning my nephew puts on my mom's shoes. She has to have her shoes on because that is the last thing that makes her feel dressed in the morning. Sometimes though he forgets to put them on her feet and they are left on the side of her bed. So, she will ask me where are her shoes. Sometimes I can get them right away if I am not in the bathroom myself, or doing dishes or in the middle of cooking breakfast. There is a short wait then but a short wait is like the end of the world to her sometimes. She wants them on her feet when she gets up and gets dressed. And if she doesn't have them on she thinks that they are missing during the night. I don't know why she thinks that but she does. So, she will look and think shoes that aren't hers are her shoes and try to put them on. One day she had son my son's shoes whose feet are twice as big as hers almost. I tried to explain that they were not her shoes and she looked at me like I was nuts before she realized they were way too big for her and I was probably right.
So, I have now have learned to check to see if she has shoes on. If she doesn't before I do anything else I put them on for her. There is no need for her to worry about shoes that she thinks are missing or trying to put on shoes that are ten sizes too big for her or trying to pull shoes from under her chair thinking that they are hers. I have to make sure that people put their shoes away around here.
She is happy when the case of the shoes is solved and back on her feet.
