Christmas Cookies, Cards and such...
My nephew brought some cookie dough home from his job the other day. I think that someone was probably someone at work was selling it for their kids school or something. But, nonetheless when there is cookie dough in the house my son gets excited and it has to be baked. It is chocolate chip cookie dough all you have to do is put the cookies on the cookie sheet and bake for about ten or fifteen minutes. In our oven better make it about 18-20. So, little by little we have been baking those cookies and eating them. My son wanted to know if we were also going to make Christmas cookies too this year. He can eat cookies all day long if he could. Actually, I am not sure about more cookies right now. I am still trying to get through the box of the chocolate chip cookies. But, maybe closer to Christmas I might need another cookie fix.
My friend loves Christmas card and getting cards in general. She loves it so much she has joined several card groups. I was telling her about people sending my mom Christmas cards and she immediately told me about one of her groups that she is in that she has sent and received almost 50 cards over a few months. I told her that it was a good thing she found a card group or in her case many card groups but my wall is full of cards and I don't have too much room for more cards since I barely have enough room for the small tree we have had for years and years. That tree is sitting in a corner near the TV and the cards are on the wall behind the TV and a few behind the tree. I have more walls of course but was trying to keep them all in the same proximity. Since that is about the only Christmas decorating I do these days besides decorating the tree and the wreaths that we sort of DIY which we got from a craft store a couple of years ago. I can't wait until the day comes when we have more space to do more but like I tell my son it is what it is until it isn't. So, for now I am happy with my DIY decorations and some of my DIY stockings hung with care above the tree on the wall since we don't have a fireplace mantel or a fireplace. So, the wall it is. Guess it doesn't matter where you hang them all that matters is that we have a place to hang them. Of course they are hanging not stuffed and I have one for my son that is not hanging that will be stuffed later with some dollar store trinkets.
Of course when it is filled it will not hang on the wall it will hang with the gifts in front of the tree. And that will be alright with everyone.
