Game Nights!

I am pretty sure that when I was young that connect four didn't exist although checkers did because I do remember playing endless games with my sister on rainy days and days we were just bored. I got my son both games for Christmas.  Board games so he can get away from screens and play how we did in the good old days when computers were not around yet.  So, since I have gotten these games for my son I have played more checkers and connect 4 then I can count on both hands and trow in a few toes too. My friend also got him a few card games but we haven't gotten around to playing those yet. I am sure that in a day or two we will be playing endless rounds of something. I really don't mind too much though. It is pretty fun most of the time and gives us a time to spend doing something other then looking at screens for too many hours at a time.

When I was little my mom didn't play with my sister and I too much. I remember playing dominoes with her and my dad from time to time but never two or three days in a row and I do remember playing a few games of fish with them and black jack which was my sister's favorite card game. Most of the time I played cards and board games with her and my cousins and we even played monopoly back then and accused each other of cheating and only certain people could be the banker which we all watched carefully. There were lot of laughs and giggles until we all got tired and called it a draw. I don't think we ever finished a game of monopoly. When my brother was born we played candy land with him and chutes and ladders. Those were his favorites and when he got older sorry became one of his favorites too.

So, until next Christmas we will be playing endless rounds of checkers and connect four not to mention whatever else comes along over the coming year.  My son has already told me that every night should be game night.
