Dollar Store Shopping Spree
I love the dollar tree store. My son and I went there today after going to the regular grocery store. My son loves it more than I do and we both can get carried away quickly with everything we can possibly think of being only a dollar. But, as I explained to him before we go that dollars add up quickly so we have to budget and shop wisely. I give him and myself a limit before we leave out the door. His limit is usually $3-5 and mine is usually no more then $20. On a good day we stay within that limit on a bad day, meaning we both see something that we just can't resist, then we might go over a dollar or two.
So, we walked in to aisles of Christmas things that every kid and grown up kid would just love to have and decorate with. There were Santa Christmas stockings as soon as we walked up the steps into the store. They were just staring us, those big green, white and red Santa faces just smiling at us saying please take me home, take two home and stuff us full of little toys that you can find in the toy aisle right this way. Toys, toys, toys all the toys any stocking would love to be stuffed with. Toy cars, games, puzzles, light sticks, books, crowns for princesses and princes, toys that need homes and are calling out to my son, take us home, take many of us home now. Around the corner from the toys are the dishes, lots of Christmas dishes in bright green, red, white. Some had Santa on them others Christmas trees, then the glasses, the snowflakes on the glasses in all shapes and sizes, perfect for Grandma.
We then ventured over to where we were supposed to be going from the beginning, the cleaning aisle. I grabbed some kind of super duper cleaning solution which I plan on using to clean the walls before the weekend is over, some sponges to use to clean up, a couple of spray bottles and gloves. I put them in the cart and wouldn't you know it there was the candy aisle just sitting there shelves stuffed with all the candy I love including candy canes. I could barely pass it up without almost shedding a tear for my sweet tooth. My son managed to get some cotton candy with his $3 dollar limit and some light sticks. He saved his last dollar for the next time.
So, with a cart load of cleaning supplies and the stuff my son had we made a dash to the counter. They had batteries at the counter and we did need some batteries for just about everything so we grabbed a couple of packs and said good bye to the dollar store until next time.
Who knows what will be calling our names next time. We will have to wait and see.
