Pizza Pizza!
Today must have been my day to forget things or at least forget about dinner. Last night I put some red beans in the fridge to soak for tonight's dinner. My intention was to put them in the crockpot and let them cook for a few hours and by the time it was dinner time they would be cooked. That didn't happen and I didn't remember those beans until it was almost dinner time. And the bad part is that I had looked in the fridge a million times today and never once thought to take them out. I saw them just sitting there in the bowl on the rack and thought nothing of it. Just grabbed what I came to get and closed the door and went about my business. My son said I am loosing it. I agree today I think I was for a minute or three.
Well, since we had no beans in the crockpot for dinner my son requested that we have pizza. Sounded like a cool idea to me so I ordered online at the usual place we get it from. Now, lately this place has been a hit or miss. I would say that about 70% of the time they are okay and the 30% of the time something is wrong, usually the pizza is not hot and I don't enjoy cold pizza until the next day after I ordered it.
So, I ordered it and according to the online tracker it was checked for perfection about 15 min or so after I ordered it so I am thinking good in about 20 more minutes it should be on the way to my door and I was more then ready to get that hot pizza in my belly. So, I was watching my son finishing up his homework and I noticed that about 30 minutes had passed since I last checked the tracker. So, I logged on put in my number and checked again. Still being checked for perfection for the next hour. So, I was just about to call the store to see what the hold up was cause my growling stomach was not liking the wait time. But, before I could the screen changed and said it left the store. I almost did a happy dance.
Well, the tracker said this person was going to deliver it whom I didn't really care for. I didn't care for him because once a while back when he delivered I heard him stomp up the stairs and I waited for him to knock on the door as most visitors do. It is only common sense and polite right? So, I am standing on the other side of the door waiting and then I hear the doorknob turn. I am thinking what the heck? I know this man just didn't turn the doorknob and not knock on the door. Oh, but he did. Good thing the door was double locked and my brother and nephew were home. Well, I told my nephew to open the door and he did and I told the manager that the delivery man was not cool turning my doorknob. I got an apology and a free pizza for the next time. And for a long time he didn't deliver to me. Not until today. I recognized the name and sure enough when I heard the footsteps coming up the steps it was him and this time he knocked and was as nice as he could be. In other words he acted like he should have acted the first time he delivered here.
The pizza was another story. It wasn't cold but it wasn't hot either. I don't like warm pizza either. So, the delivery guy was okay but the pizza wasn't. I think that I need to break up with this pizza place and find another place. The love affair is definitely over.
