Moon Gazing!
Last night was a full moon. I have always liked the moon and full moons especially. I probably wouldn't have noticed the full moon except for when I went to bed it was shinning brightly though my window. When I was lying in bed the curtain at the top was not quite as closed as it should be. Josh has bent the rod a little bit looking out of the window so the rod is a little bent and the curtain won't close all the way at the very tip top of the window.
It was open just enough for me to notice the moon shining from the top of the tree that is in the parking lot. From my room there is a lovely view of the parking lot. I know not much of a view but there is a big tree out there that is nice to look at. The only saving grace of having a view of the parking lot. I hear cars coming and going at night and the alarms occasionally going off in my sleep. Then I hear the car owner running out of their apartment to check on their car or to look to see if it is their car sometimes since most alarms sound exactly the same around here. One alarm goes off and ten people are looking out windows and doors seeing if it is their car. From my window I can see the back of houses and lights on the kitchens and bathrooms. The dumpster is almost underneath my window so when the midnight garbage dumpers take out the trash I hear that too. And there is always at least one person taking out midnight trash.
Also in the early mornings on the weekend's sometimes I hear the raking of leaves and the smashing of cans for recycle. Shortly after the garbage man comes and I hear bits and pieces of conversations they have with each other. From what I can tell mostly work gossip of who is doing what to whom and what they thought about it.
The sounds of crying babies is a common noise to me also. The building manager babysits. She babysits mostly during the weekdays but occasionally on any given Saturday there is a baby or toddler who is not happy about being left there while his or her parents go to work or other appointments. Their parents will try to comfort them usually in words of Spanish which I can't understand but their voices sound soothing and happy but most of the time the child is not having it and will cry until they realize mom or dad is not coming back for a while.
So, when the moon shined brightly in my sleepy eyes last night it was a surprise but a nice one. It was quiet. No noise. People were all home in the parking lot so no cars going back and forth, no crying babies, just the silent night and the full moon.
The best way to fall asleep under the light of the moon.
