Bithday Elves

Last night my son and I were talking right before his bedtime. He said that he was thinking about his birthday. Of course he was since it is just right around the corner and he has already planned to eat at MacDonalds, go the park and target and  the dollar store. He has big plans for that day. He told me that he wished there were such thing as birthday elves like the elves that help Santa Claus. He told me that it would be cool that every time a kid had a birthday an elf would come the night before and leave him gifts in a special place like Santa does. Santa leaves the gifts under the tree so he said maybe they could have like a birthday tree or similar to a money tree that the elves could come and when the kids are sleeping put the gifts and cards under there.  He said then when they woke up they can go to the tree, where they left out the elves something to eat like you do for Santa and see if they came.

I nodded in agreement and told him it would be a good idea. He said that his elf would be as tall as him and he would wear his favorite colors, blue and red and maybe a green party hat on his head or a baseball cap, either one. His elf might need a helper since he expects to get big gifts and someone has to help him carry them up the stairs. His elf would not only leave him big gifts but candy too, preferably skittles since he loves skittles and maybe a few candy canes too. And maybe one of the elves could be dressed like a superhero such as Spiderman or Superman or even Batman. He said that would really be cool. Of course he would be asleep so he would not see them when they arrived but perhaps they could leave a picture of themselves so he would know what they looked like.

When he woke up he would go the birthday tree and open his gifts and enjoy all of the presents the elves left for them and he would hope that they enjoyed the treat he left for them.

He has such an imagination.
But, this time I totally agree with him there should be birthday elves similar to the elves that Santa has and they should wear party hats and superhero costumes and visit all the boys and girls who are celebrating a birthday that day. I even think there should be birthday elves for grown ups too. After all, why should kids have all the fun?
